Finally, I get this together.

Monday, May 23rd, 2011

Oh my god. I’m so excited for this. I am putting together this gallery show and I haven’t been this jacked since my last quarter at SCAD. It has been an incredible time living in Savannah, putting together comedy shows, and promoting them on Facebook with these posters. There are posters from a handful of different venues in Savannah; a majority from the open mic show at the Sentient Bean. And the space is amazing and nice and bare. I’m way too excited. My curator is also my best friend Josh! He is helping me out in such a big way, putting together my prints, originals, comics, etc. Some of the comedians will be on hand, too, so you can match comedians with their illustration!

I will be selling a lot of great sketches from the past few years. I have never-before-seen sketches and paintings available. Also, I will be having my latest mini comic “Luke Holds Off” for sale as well. Stop on by!

Josh Wood double header

I colored a new poster and an old poster, both featuring Josh Wood in them. Above are the colors with tweaks and color correcting by Josh Wood. And below are my original colors you can totally compare them to. I like some of the changes he made, but you can decide which ones are better.

I knocked the colors for these in one night! I’m so pumped about digital coloring now, I hope you guys are enjoying the fruits of my labor. This week, my bestie Josh needed the old January comedy poster colored, and I filled his request! And I’m glad he made me. Now I’m undertaking a project where I will be adding color to all the old comedy posters, with the hope that in the end they will be collected in a full-color hardcover Stand-Up Comic Book Gig Posters book.

Putting this Poster to Shane

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

It’s almost been a whole year since I started performing regularly at the Sentient Bean. I’ve missed some months in the 09-10 year, but it’s been a year nonetheless! And I’ve been making posters as frequently as I could, too. My approach to the posters have mostly been to improvise it with no planning, but this one in particular I decided to sketch out beforehand.

Sensual Sounds, of comedy and music!

Monday, February 8th, 2010

I don’t do this often, but this post has a bonus illest-tration! I’ve just been making lots of work and you get to see both for the price of one visit! First, this Wednesday is another Coffee House event, with David Stine and Melissa Hagerty performing! I will probably be in attendance, so stop by and say hello to me.

Secondly, the “Sensual Sounds of an Arousing Evening” Comedy Show is THIS THURSDAY at the Sentient Bean, 8 to 10PM. It’s going to be a crazy fun show, because it is our Valentine’s Day-themed show. I will be covering topics revolving around dating relationship, and my specialty, SEX. It’s sure to be a fun, revealing event, and one that will make you cringe at how horrible some of the things in my life go. Bring a date, so that you can both share a moment of complete awkwardness and make love to afterwords.
