Food Magazine

Tuesday, February 15th, 2011

Do you like comics that are in color? I hardly do any, but I did one for the latest issue of District Quarterly. The theme was food, so I drew some inspiration from life and got down to making delicious meals for myself to eat. Then I drew. That’s a fun process to create comics to: eat then draw. Pick yourself up an issue and check it out, or read it on the District Quarterly website here.

I gotta thank my girl, Katelan. She did an amazing job as editor for the past three issues, finding it in herself to publish my work in them. Not gonna lie, she’s got fantastic taste. In art, words, AND food. She’s going to my editor one day, when she’s tearing up the magazine industry and she needs some spot illustrations in GQ and Esquire.

Now, if you want to skip the whole reading the magazine in a flash player, you can read my comic page by clicking this link.

Preview to “The Roadie”

My latest short story was a ton of fun, but not finished. So here’s a sneak peek.

My summer has been pretty hectic and I really want to just make and post work here. I’m working on plenty of great things, and I am having a blast just moving and settling into my new apartment. Things are in transition, and I’ve got plenty of new work to show. Much love!

My Twitter Background is a Comic!

Monday, December 7th, 2009

This isn’t groundbreaking, I just wanted to make a cool comic for my twitter account. Some screen resolutions will view the comic differently. On my laptop, I can’t see the last panel myself! So just right click the image and hit “View Background Image”, or something similar to that. I tried my best efforts to make it as universal as possible (but in this day and age, that’s impossible!).

Also, If you aren’t following me, you can definitely start! http://twitter.com/jeremywins

I post jokes in progress and notify followers of updates to this site. Integrate my life into yours, (maybe you have an RSS Feed for all the blogs you read? This blog looks magnificent in your Google Reader!)

And if you have a blog or personal website and would like to cross-link you with me, let me know here in the comments section and I’ll add you in my links section. The internet is wondrous, and I’d love love love to keep up with your work.

Comic Tribute to Demetri Martin

Demetri Martin is premiering his new show tonight, Important Things with Demetri Martin, at 10:30PM on Comedy Central. Some cool tidbits about the show is that it is produced by Busboy Productions owned by Jon Stewart of The Daily Show. Jon also produces the Colbert Report. It seems like he’s got his hands in some great properties and at a good time, too. In this economic meltdown, comedy is definitely a needed escapism, and Demetri brings a show that isn’t full of political and social commentary. He presents his observations on the smaller but important things in life.
