With all these freelance projects and other vague things I’m working on, I don’t have a lot of non-confidential work I can show. So I decided to practice some coloring. Much love everyone!

There was no escaping from doing a Star Trek comic. I wanted to do something on Wanda Sykes bashing Limbaugh this weekend, but it seemed too contrived to get a joke from. The real fun is the actual story. Sometimes I try to find an already funny story to joke on, but I have to let the story just be funny on its own. The real work is finding funny in the serious stories. I want to work on that much more.

Round-up for the week:

• The H&P: District Edition this week features Miss California. Half Naked.
• Brett Muller had some guest comics drawn this past week. Check out the archives for the previous guest strips. I should also mention that Kevin Burkhalter just finished a similar event in his “Friends of February” comics.
• I’m totally digging Jarrett Williams revamped site. It’s design really makes me want to read from the very beginning of Lunarboyland.

I’ve got a lot of work to do, so wish me luck!

These next two weeks are my finals. I’ve also been moving into a house and preparing for the summer by looking into some jobs. Thanks for the patience and continued patronage!

I also wrote an awesome article for the District, with lots of pictures of beautiful, well-dressed SCAD students.

I have to reiterate that doing this comic lets me do whatever I feel like it. News happens all over the place! Including weird things that you’d never think would get any coverage byt he press at all. Bats dying from fungus? Whaat?? And they are going to seal up these caves so will all the bats who didn’t die yet end up trapped to die from fungus? Imagine dying from fungus. That’s a very pathetic death, dude. Your grave will read: “Here lies _______.” He died of fungus. What a loser and good riddance.”

I haven’t heard of any swine flu breakouts near the south, so the Savannah-ites are good for the time being. I totally feel like I’m in a zombie movie while news reporters are telling us what to do during an”outbreak”.  I get so scared sometimes! I guess it’s just my wild imagination taking a perfectly normal pandemic and turning it into a science fiction adventure.

Whew! Midterms are over, and I had lots to do a whole lot this weekend! Check out some of the cool happenings:

• Here is this week’s H&P: District Edition.
• I drew my first illustration to go alongside an article for the District! It’s written by the very talented and always charming Myrriah Gossett and has been seeing a ton of views and comments in these past few hours. Definitely worth a read!
• And I contributed a few words to the SEQALab Podcast this week! I love them so much. I’ve done one over the summer, got cold feet, and never returned. It’s pretty intimidating, but I sucked it up and had another go at it! Jeremy, Jarrett, Rashad, Kevin, everyone I met that day. They’ve all been so encouraging, I was glad to be able to lay some comics talk down with them.

420 seems to be getting a lot of buzz! There are actual subcommittees filled with advocates for the legalization of marijuana. My home state (and home region the Yay) may be the first to make headway in this venture. Next, gay marriage! (or opposite marriage for some!)
